Henry Kent-Wolsey was born in Brandon 28th December 1916 (Thetford Q1-1917 4B:488), son of Alfred Stanley K. and Edith May KENT-WOLSEY (née BASHAM). The WOLSEY part of the name was not always used amongst the various branches or even the members of the same family, in fact his father married as WOOLSEY, seemingly using KENT as a given name. In the 1939 register, at Fishponds, Brandon were his parents, now using the surname KENT-WOLSEY. His father Stanley [16-2-1890] was forestry commercial timber feller; mother Edith M [13-4-1889]; brother Albert U [14-4-1914] also a forestry commercial timber feller;sister June M [22-6-1929] a scholar, later Mrs Fowler-Hunt. There are 2 closed records.

Mother's given name is Maud on the Japanese PoW card, his origin was Norman Cottages, Brandon and parents living at Fishpond Farm, Brandon. The rest of the card is in Japanese. His brother William, mobilised a the same time, was also captured by the Japanese but survived.
